Sheila Lirio Marcelo
Sheila Lirio Marcelo is a founder and category creator building the invisible infrastructure of care.
With more than 25 years of experience building internet consumer platforms, she has spent her life turning personal challenges into scalable systems that support families and strengthen the economy.
After struggling to find reliable care for her own family, she founded Care.com in 2006. What began as one mother’s search became a global platform used by millions of families to find childcare, senior care, and household support. In 2014, she took the company public on the NYSE, becoming one of the few women founders to lead a venture-backed technology IPO, and later led its $500 million acquisition by IAC in 2020.
Today, Sheila is Co-Founder and CEO of Ohai.ai, an AI-powered operating system designed to coordinate household logistics and reduce the invisible cognitive load, helping families reclaim time and fully participate in work and life. She previously served as a Venture Partner at New Enterprise Associates and is a founding board member of The Asian American Foundation, which mobilized $1 billion in commitments to advance safety, belonging, and opportunity.
Sheila is a Henry Crown Fellow of the Aspen Institute, a Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum, and a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. She has been recognized by Forbes 50 Over 50 and Fortune’s Top 10 Women Entrepreneurs, is the youngest recipient of the Harvard Business School Alumni Achievement Award, and received the Filipino Heritage Award (Pamana ng Pilipino) from the President of the Philippines. She holds a J.D. and M.B.A. from Harvard University and a B.A. from Mount Holyoke College, which awarded her an honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters.
Across every chapter of her work, she has championed a simple idea: when families are supported, everything else becomes possible.
