

Steve Yeager
Steve Yeager has represented Assembly District 9 (southwest Las Vegas) in the Nevada State Assembly since 2016, serving in five regular sessions and six special sessions. He chaired the Assembly Committee on Judiciary in his first three sessions. In addition, Steve served as Speaker Pro Tem for two sessions before being unanimously elected as Speaker for the 2023 and 2025 sessions. In 2023, Steve sponsored first in the nation legislation to create an Office of Entrepreneurship in Nevada. That legislation received bipartisan support and was signed into law.
Steve serves on the Board of Directors or Executive Committee for a number of national legislative organizations and he hosted the National Speakers Conference in Las Vegas in 2024. His role as a legislator has allowed him to travel extensively within the United States and overseas, learning about many difficult cultures and political systems along the way.
When the Legislature is not in session, Steve practices law at Battle Born Injury Lawyers, focusing primarily on personal injury cases. Prior to that, he served as a public defender in Las Vegas for several years. He is a proud graduate of the University of Michigan and Cornell Law School.
Steve’s hobbies include hiking, ultrarunning, reading, writing, traveling, and poker.
